- More rudder skin work
The
rudder is really starting to look the business. Its huge as
well !

Anyway
stop looking at it and get on with the job ! First up is
riveting in the top rib which covers up the counterbalance.
Pretty straight forward with no issues. Also had to remember
to put the two blind (pop) rivets in to secure the rib to the
spar. 2nd picture shows this.

Time
for a few more photos. Worth stating that a longeron yolk is
required to get to squeeze the rivets inside the rudder horn (3rd
picture below). Even with the longeron yoke the rivet
nearest the spar can not be got at; so I will revert to the
optional blind rivet...oh I will need a 7/64" drill...another tool
order!! The first picture also shows the aluminium angle
that I fitted to keep the rudder edge straight [this will be
removed before flight...;-) ]

I
though I might try the bearing fittings in their holes; though
these will not be fitted until the leading edge has been formed as
I am sure they will get in the way when doing that.

Next
job for the rudder will be forming the trailing edge....eeek.
